Ngāi Tai ki Tāmaki signed the Deed of Settlement on the 7th of November 2015.

Ngāi Tai ki Tāmaki AIP signed on the 5th of November 2011.

This is a great way to familiarise yourself with the steps and milestones associated with settling a claim. We are currently working towards an Agreement in Principle or AIP, after signing our Terms of Agreement, TON, in June 2010.

The first step in the negotiation process is for the claimant group to select a representative body to enter into negotiations with the Crown. The Ngāi Tai ki Tāmaki Tribal Trust is the mandated body on behalf of Ngāi Tai ki Tāmaki.

The Crown and twelve iwi of Hauraki, who comprise the Hauraki Collective, signed Agreement in Principle Equivalents on 22 July 2011 to record progress made in negotiations to date, and the settlement aspirations of the iwi.

The Hauraki Collective Framework Agreement records the intentions of the Crown and the Hauraki Collective regarding the negotiations process. The Hauraki Collective Framework Agreement was signed on 1st October 2010.

The Crown and the Tāmaki Collective have signed a Deed of Settlement.

This Framework Agreement sets out the structures and functions of the Collective. The terms of the Right of First Refusal of surplus Crown land is also explained. We will in effect be co-owners and co-governers of several of Auckland's Maunga.
